Children's Ministry

Every week and throughout the year, you’ll discover a well-rounded program that includes Sunday School, Missions, Vacation Bible School, TeamKid, and Bible Drill. These programs are available for children in 1st-5th grades. For more information, call the Church office at 228-497-4050.

Children's Sunday School

First Baptist Church is committed to teaching children about the precious word of God.  One of the ways we accomplish this is through our Children’s Bible Study.  Bible Study takes place each Sunday Morning from 9:15 am – 10:15 am in the Children’s Dept. located on the second floor of the educational building.

Children’s Choir

The FBC Children's Choirs offer elementary age children the opportunity to participate in age-appropriate choirs, musicals, and drama events.  Packed with cool songs, fun activities, and spiritual applications these programs will have your kids excited about choir each week!  Children's Choirs (grades K - 6) and Preschool Choir (ages 3 to 5) meet on Sundays from 5:00 to 5:45 pm.

Children's Mission Activities

At FBC we believe that the seeds of a missions-oriented mindset can be planted at all ages.  Through our Children's missions learning opportunities, Girls In Action (GAs) and Royal Ambassadors (RAs), it is our desire to the see the young people of our community change the world both locally and globally.

Girls in Action (GA) is a Women's Missionary Union organization for girls in grades 1-5. GA's meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Children's Dept. on the second floor of the educational building.

The GA's purpose is summed up in the GA Pledge: "I will do my best to live a missions lifestyle that honors God by learning about missions, praying for missions, giving to missions, doing missions, and participating in the work of the church". GA helps girls develop spiritually towards a missions lifestyle as they learn what God is doing in the world and discover their place in His plan.

Royal Ambassadors (RAs) is a mission education organization for boys in grades 1-6.  RA's meet each Wednesday night from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Children's Dept. located on the second floor of the Educational building.  A Royal Ambassador (RA) is a boy in grades 1-6 committed to living out the RA Pledge. This pledge is part of personal and RA accountability.

The RA Motto, "We are Ambassadors for Christ," not only gives the organization its name, but it also gives the boys and leaders a lifestyle goal. This motto is taken from 2 Corinthians 5 17:20: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
